De-Mystifying the Music Industry with Martin Tibbetts
Martin Tibbetts started his music career in 1986 as Ents Manager at Loughborough StudentsUnion, before taking a job at Solo Agency booking shows and tours for some of his biggest heroes as well as developing his own roster of acts. After 8 years as an agent, he moved into marketing as general manager of Revolution Promotions at the heart of Brit Pop, running radio, club, press and street campaigns from artists from Muse to Robbie Williams.
For the last 12 years, Martin has been an artist manager, representing artists signed to major and independent labels, including multi-million-selling Australian pop group Sheppard and hard rock icons Last In Line. He has an MA in Music Entrepreneurship, where he researched artist management structures and has become an in-demand lecturer in the music business, currently working at Water Bear in Brighton, University of the Arts London, Middlesex University, Notting Hill Academy of Music and educating inmates at 2 prisons.
