What Is Small Pond Emerging?
Our aim with Emerging is to offer you the chance to expand your reach, learn new skills and be part of a music community.
Last year we featured sixteen bands from Brighton and the surrounding areas on a vinyl and online release. This year we're thinking bigger, twenty bands and artists will get the chance to come through our studio, free of charge . We want to showcase young musicians and artists aged 16-25 from Brighton and beyond and support you to be the best artist you can be.
Apply below for the chance to be part of Small Pond Emerging.
Here is what some of our past project participants have said about our work.
"I had a really good time, it helped my confidence in writing and I definitely got some great tips that will let inspiration flow from new places." - A solo performer from the Diversify Learn Create project
"It has been a great opportunity for us to connect with the local music scene. The whole team at Small Pond are really helpful, and the opportunities provided are second to none." DLC project participant
"Having access to Small Pond for the emerging project has been one of the best experiences we have had as a band. Having access to space for free has taken the financial pressure off of us and allowed us creative freedom. The support we had to develop our track has really influenced our songwriting and we have learnt skills that we will continue to use for the rest of our time in music" Project Participant from Emerging
"It has given me a tremendous amount of confidence and encouraged me to pursue sound engineering full time. The 1-1 mentoring sessions were also invaluable in getting different views, and also career guidance."- Incubator Project Participant
Why should you apply to emerging
You'll get access to a network of musicians and creatives in Brighton and the surrounding area. We are very lucky that we have such an inclusive and fun music environment and we aim to help you to be a part of that.
We want to support your music making and help you be the be best artist you can be. We have experienced people on hand to break down the challenges and barriers that you are facing with your music.
As well as having time where you can access support you will also have time to work on your music. We will always have someone on hand to support but if you need time to get stuck into your music independently then you will have rehearsal time for this.
